What an AI support agent actually does

A practical look at the work a support agent takes off your team's plate — and where humans stay in the loop.

"AI support" often gets pictured as a bot that pastes FAQ answers. A well-built support agent does considerably more — and knows when to step aside.

The everyday work

A typical support agent we deploy handles:

  1. Status questions — order tracking, booking details, account state — answered from live data, not guesses.
  2. Simple changes — updating an address, rescheduling, resending an invoice — done directly in your systems.
  3. Policy questions — returns, warranties, eligibility — answered consistently with your current rules.

Where humans stay in charge

Good agents escalate early. Refund exceptions, angry customers, and anything outside policy go to your team with the full conversation and a summary attached, so nobody has to ask the customer to repeat themselves.

How you know it's working

We track resolution rate, time to first response, escalation rate, and customer satisfaction from day one. If the numbers don't hold up in the pilot, the agent doesn't go live.
